An interview with Michael Lopp : The Setup

Mr. Lopp may be better known to you by his nom de plume, Rands. He is also who I want to be when I grow up. I would also like to have Merlin Mann as the crazy uncle who always stops over and raids my liquor cabinet. While I’m at it, I’d like Jack Mottram to be the older brother who I have beer with and teaches me how to fish.

Tastes Like Strawberries

The other day, I convinced my friend to try a new drink and he really liked it.

As he sipped it, I put my hand on his shoulder and said “You’re like me now.”

This is a fun infographic I made the other day in response to a post on GOOD. It charts the trustworthiness of a person based solely on beard style. Click here to view full size.
Note: based on no scientific evidence.
Edit: Thank you for all the reblogs. I had no idea this would be the most popular post I’ve ever made.

The Best Thing I've Read All Year

If you want to tout your own morality, you’d best come up with something more substantive than your heterosexuality. You did nothing to earn it; it was given to you. If you disagree, I would be interested in hearing your story, because my own heterosexuality was a blessing I received with no effort whatsoever on my part. It is so woven into the very soul of me that nothing could ever change it. For those of you who reduce sexual orientation to a simple choice, a character issue, a bad habit or something that can be changed by a 10-step program, I’m puzzled. Are you saying that your own sexual orientation is nothing more than something you have chosen, that you could change it at will? If that’s not the case, then why would you suggest that someone else can?
